Having fun and raising funds is what we do best.

Fun for Funds was built by you.

We all know someone who has lost a loved one to cancer. Experiencing this incredible loss is what led us to create the first Austin and Ryan’s Annual Golf Outing. Our goal then, as it is now, is to support an organization that helped our families in the darkest times. Since our first year, your involvement has helped raise over $30,000 for families like ours in Rock County that have been impacted by cancer.

Going into our fifth year, we are more grateful and excited than ever to put on this event. Bringing together our friends, families, and community to raise money for such an important cause has been the honor of a lifetime. We could not have done it without you. As we continue to support the work of Rock County Cancer Coalition, we hope to expand our impact by creating and organizing more events for causes that we care about deeply.

As always, we hope to have you along for the drive!

Meet the Team.

Raised in Janesville, Austin attended elementary and high school in the area and has participated in community programs throughout the city.

Austin is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and currently works as a teacher and coach in the Beloit School District. When Austin is not at work or assisting his community he enjoys spending time outside and traveling. Biking, blading, golfing, and kayaking are some of his favorite hobbies. He’s also been known to grill a little.

Austin is the eldest and only son of Karen Minott and the late, Larry Minott. Karen was diagnosed in the winter of 2006 with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and underwent a large procedure to remove the lower left lobe of her lung. Karen is thankfully now in remission. In 2016 Larry was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and passed 8 months and 1 day from his diagnosis. Austin has two younger sisters, Lauren and Zoe Minott.

After being assisted by the Rock County Cancer Coalition during his father's illness, Austin and co-founder Ryan decided they needed to find a way to give back. A small charity golf outing was started in 2019 and has grown into a nonprofit organization just four short years later.

“With the power of a nonprofit organization, we no longer have to limit our efforts to only one cause. The Rock County Cancer Coalition is very near and dear to us, but we would love to begin assisting other causes as well. Youth homelessness and opportunities for underprivileged children will be other areas we will try and make an impact for our community.”

Ryan was raised in Janesville and attended elementary and high school in the area, where he wrestled and ran cross country.

Ryan is a sales manager with Bobs Custom Windows and Siding in Janesville. When Ryan is not assisting homeowners or his community, he enjoys spending time with his 3 dogs, Oreo, Moose, and Sosa. Ryan also enjoys binging HBO, golfing, and buying various collectibles.

Ryan is the youngest of Teresa Gunn and Robert Riley. Robert was diagnosed with lung cancer in the winter of 2016 and moved on to eternal peace in June of 2017. Robert joined his daughter and Ryans's eldest sibling and only sister, Angela, who bravely battled ovarian cancer and found peace in December of 2015. They are survived by Teresa, Ryan, and his brother John Riley (Jen).

After being assisted by the Rock County Cancer Coalition during his father and sister's illness, Ryan and co-founder Austin decided they needed to find a way to give back.

Jacob was born and raised in Janesville, WI and attended school in the area. After graduation from Parker High School in 2013, he attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater where he studied entrepreneurship and finance. Jacob is currently a sales manager at iButtonLink Technology and the owner of Loud Mouth Media, a marketing agency for local businesses.

“After attending Austin and Ryan’s golf outing a few years back, I immediately wanted to play a bigger role in the work they were doing. All of us have been friends for years and seeing what both of their families went through had a huge impact on me. Their decision to start an outing to raise money for families in their shoes is something I am extremely proud to be a part of.”

Jacob currently acts as a fundraising/ general director for Fun For Funds and manages the website and digital media, which means sometimes writing in third person.. He can’t wait to see how much good can be done with this community.
